Are you a certified Medical Examiner seeking recertification with the DOT? With the influx of providers needing recertification this year, there are potential delays for DOT verification. Some providers have been waiting weeks to be verified to schedule their recertification exam, although it is likely most missed a step in the process. At the NRCME Training Institute, we understand the urgency to remain certified and we offer a streamlined approach to faster recertification.
Step 1: Enroll in Our Accredited Training Program
Begin the recertification process by enrolling in our NRCME accredited recertification training program.
Step 2: Pass Our Final Test
Go straight to our 50 question Final Test, which can be taken as often as needed until you pass. Once passed, you will have instant access to your new training certificate.
Step 3: Submit Your Certificate
Submit your new training certificate to your DOT account. Ensure all required fields, such as the training company name, address, and accrediting organization's name, are accurately inputted in the training section of your DOT account. Do not forget to indicate that the training was conducted online.
Step 4: Prepare for the National Exam
While waiting for DOT verification, revisit our accredited training material to fully prepare for the NRCME exam. You will know you have been verified when you can schedule the $80 exam online with either PSI or Prometric.
Handling Verification Delays
Due to the high volume of recertifying providers in 2024, verification delays may occur. If you have completed all the necessary recertification steps and still cannot schedule the exam, follow these steps:
-
Call the FMCSA: Dial (617) 494-3003 between 9am to 5pm EST, Monday to Friday. Press option 2 when the first greeting starts, then press the number 6 on hearing the start of the second greeting. This will bypass the greetings and, if not on the phone, they will answer.
-
Email Verification Request: Send an email to FMCTECHSUP@dot.gov requesting verification to schedule the exam.
-
Attempt Scheduling Daily: Check for scheduling availability at the end of every business day. Once verified, you will be able to schedule the exam without further delay.
Recertifying with the NRCME shouldn't be daunting. By enrolling in our accredited training program and following these steps, you can expedite the process and avoid being out of certification compliance. Enroll today.
